Meet Manoah MOLI

After announcing its national teams, the Vanuatu Basketball Federation is proudly introducing you the players that will fly Vanuatu’s flag in Samoa to the 3x3 basketball competition.

You can't miss that tall guy in town. Today let’s find out more about Manoah “Rookie” MOLI, also the VBF Deputy National Basketball Development Officer, that will be participating to his first Pacific Games.

Manoah is returning home more time to the National, after being part of the inaugural squad that played on the home ground back in 2017 for the first Oceania 3x3 basketball competition ever

"I started training back in 2017 for the Van2017 Mini Games. I was selected in the national team and it feels great to represents my country. And so back in 2018 and 2019 for the 3x3 Asia Cup in China. We lost all of our games but its been a good experience for us, we came back and shared ideas with the rookies back home."

Even if he has been training now for almost 2 years, he acknowledged that being an elite athlete is not an easy task, and requires a lot more of effort

"Preparation for national team is not that easy road we thought it would be, its hard. It requires commitment and hard work you put each and everyday to make you better than others."

Even he is now used to wearing the National uniform, it is still a pleasure and great honour to fly the national flag. Not only for him, but for his family too

"For me it'll be the forth time i wear my country's flag. Am proud of myself, it'll be an honour once again to play for my country and my fellow brothers who did not make it to the team but always helps the team, encourage them each and everyday on training days, and also for my families back home. Not everyone in your country or family will fly your county's flag so i take that as a privilege for me."

And he hardly hopes that the team's restless effort will pay off in Samoa with some outstanding results

"To me we go out there to perform our best, put every effort we could to win something out from our hardwork, training till late night and walking home, got home late, no good night rest, all our efforts must paid off with an achievement in Samoa. Colossians 3:23 Phil 4:13"
